Nationally Designated Areas (map & table)
Dataset Evaluation
Cyprus Nationally Designated Areas (NatDA) is a dataset prepared and updated on an annual basis contributing to the European inventory of nationally designated areas holding information about protected areas and the national legislative instruments, which directly or indirectly create protected areas.
The inventory was formerly know as CDDA but during 2024 the acronym changed to the more accurate NatDA.
The dataset includes a map (shapefile) and a descriptive table (excel) for the following types of nationally designated areas:
- CY00 - No Protection Status
- CY01 - State Forest Area
- CY02 - Permanent Forest Reserve
- CY03 - National Forest Park
- CY04 - Nature Reserve
- CY05 - Permanent Game Reserve Area
- CY06 - Turtle Nesting Beach
- CY07 - National Park
- CY08 - Marine Reserve
- CY09 - RAMSAR Wetland
- CY10 - UNESCO Global Geopark
- CY11 - Marine Protected Area
- CY12 - Coasts and Areas for Nature Protection
- CY13 - Areas of Special Aesthetic Value
- CY14 - Protected Landscape
- CY99 - Others
